Progress on the to-do list

Conferences

CC21 Conference - After many draft and much help from colleagues, Jenn and I submitted the abstract for our poster.  With the 100 word limit it reads:
Our research focuses on translating scientific research for education and public outreach (EPO), and sharing ‘translation’ techniques with other scientists and educators. Using Arabian Sea climate change research, we designed EPO components highlighting atmospheric circulation, oceanic processes, social implications, and their interconnections. The main unit is a learner-guided concept-map created in the Centers for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence-Ocean Systems interface. Others include blogs to disseminate information and build networks, and a film on the science process.  The components’ effectiveness, accessibility, and audience-level appropriateness will be tested in schools. These components will provide a template for a Gulf of Maine version.
We are both registered to attend the conference. Next...designing the poster.

COSEE-OS Educator-Scientist Climate Change Workshop - Found out the conference is on Nov 22. I will go down the day before for the pre-workshop preparation, but I can't attend the workshop because it is the same day as C2C. Jenn is invited to attend as well.  She has to check her schedule to see if she can make both or one of the days.

Ocean Literacy Summit - I've registered for the conference.  Now just have to send in my money and figure out rides.

Project: Blogging
Jenn is drafting the next entry on 'fish kills'. The plan is to post it tomorrow or Wednesday.

Committee
The form to appoint Dr. Goes as an outside faculty member is being submitted for signatures tomorrow.  A copy to Sue in the office, and then off to the Graduate School.
